I used to go to the one on Fountain Valley until I learned of this one. TBH, I think the FV is better because I feel it has tastier broth, but I certainly am not complaining. I always get the standard Hakata with strong/oilier broth, softer noodle, and less salty. Salty regular probably tastes better though. Anyway, the ramen always comes out hot with plenty of noodles... which is why I come. I would like to try the other items on the menu, but I really do love the standard Hakata.

I LOVE this place. I dream of the pork curry udon!!! I like taking people here because the food is great. It's very busy, so check in on Yelp before coming. Not the best service but usually pretty fast once you order.

Came in to get takeout so I could eat it outside. I had to order and pay from a self-service kiosk near the right door. The machine to print the receipt wasn't working, but my food came with the receipt. The photo of the Overload Ramen Combo looked like there was a mixture of meat, so I got that. Turned out it was just a regular bowl of pork ramen with 3 extra meats on the side. The pork spare rib was really dry and hard. Pork cutlet was also kind of hard. But the pork belly was extremely tender and juicy. The ramen was tasty, and the Calpico was sweet and refreshing. Food was very filling, but I wish there were more veggies in the dish instead of just noodles and meat.

Food: Ordered the scallop cream udon and OMG flavor central!! I loved the creaminess of the broth and bouncy chewy texture of the udon. Scallops were cooked perfectly and added a nice touch to the dish. Service: It was a busy Friday night but overall good experience. Waitress was courteous and kind.

This is my favorite Shin-Sen-Gumi location! It's located in the Woodbury Town Center and it's very spacious inside. Service is great - food comes out pretty quickly and I always get seated immediately when I come here! I always come here when i'm craving udon. My go-to is the spicy miso udon - lots of flavor!! Along with that, I also get the takoyaki which is absolutely delicious. Overall, love this place and will come again!

Shin-Sen-Gumi is such a really great place. I'm so grateful that Shin-Sen-Gumi can bring an amazing traditional Japanese cuisine to your mouth. Shin-Sen-Gumi was able to introduce this amazing flavorful taste to Orange County. Coming here, Shin-Sen-Gumi can really make amazing broth that is really comforting for the soul. The ambiance is really cool. Love the art work and information about Hakata Ramen and the region where it comes from. Wait-time. Usually check-in and join the wait list from Yelp. The front desk is very kind and all of the staff is very friendly and kind. There are times it's hard to get the attention of the staff like I had to get scissors to cut the noodles, plastic bowl, and plastic utensils so my toddler can eat. What we usually purchased Appetizers. Soboro Bowl (s) - Share this with my toddler too. There are times he wants rice and some other times he wants rice. Vegetable Gyoza - Perfect. Always order this and it's great to share with my family. So good! Deep Fried Chicken Skin - Very good, fresh, and crispy. Jumbo Shrimp Tempura - Also sooo good!! Ramen Hakata Ramen - Great portions, I usually share this with my toddler. I don't put ginger and do everything normal so he can enjoy it. Shrimp Cream Sauce Udon - Great Portions. Great Flavor. Overall, I'm giving this place 4 stars because of the services. If I'm with a toddler who is hungry, why is it hard for me to get utensils for my toddler or to get a refill. There are also times the server didn't go over our order and we don't get everything. The server didn't even apologize.
